Privacy, in plain English
Short version: the game and saved-yard bridge contain no trackers. Marketing analytics are disabled unless a documented project-owner privacy decision permits a disclosed, limited configuration. Details are below.
The game (play.barkopolis.net)
- No analytics, no trackers, no third-party requests. The game's security policy technically forbids it from talking to any server other than the one that serves the files — you can verify this in your browser's developer tools.
- No accounts and no sign-up. There is nothing to register and no way to log in.
- Saves stay on your device. Games autosave into your browser's local storage. Exported save files go wherever you put them. We never see them — there is no server to send them to.
- No chat and no user-generated content. Nothing a child types can be seen by anyone else, because there is nowhere to type.
- Works offline. After the first visit, the game runs without a connection.
Because the game collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. That is our approach to children's privacy: not careful handling of kids' data, but the absence of any data at all.
The saved-yard bridge (barkopolis.net/play)
- No analytics or remote scripts. The bridge exists only to move a save from the former game origin after you choose to do so.
- Two-phase deletion. The old copy is removed only after the new game validates, stores, reads back, and confirms the migrated save.
These marketing pages (www.barkopolis.net)
Marketing analytics are currently disabled. Plausible may be enabled only after a documented project-owner review approves its purpose, configuration, retention, and public disclosure. Google Analytics is not used.
Cloudflare hosts all three sites and may process necessary network and security logs to deliver and protect them. Those provider logs are distinct from analytics embedded in Barkopolis pages.
What we never do
- Sell or share data. There is nothing to sell.
- Show ads or embed ad networks.
- Ask for names, emails, or any personal information.
